When your business energy contract with E.ON Next ends, and no new agreement is in place, your business will automatically be placed on their out-of-contract rates (also referred to as deemed rates). These rates are significantly higher than those offered in fixed-term contracts, making it important to understand how they can impact your business energy bills.

Below, we outline the current out-of-contract rates for electricity and gas.

Why It’s Important to Act Quickly

Being placed on E.ON Next’s out-of-contract rates can quickly lead to higher energy costs. With electricity unit rates reaching up to 47.8 p/kWh and gas rates as high as 11.9 p/kWh, these rates are considerably more expensive than the market averages for fixed-term contracts. For businesses with high energy usage, this can significantly increase operating costs.

Securing a fixed-term contract will not only provide price stability but will also allow you to lock in better rates, avoiding the risk of further price hikes.
