February 2022 - Monthly Wholesale Market Update

Writer: Tom McGlynnTom McGlynn

January saw very volatile prices with a difference between most expensive Electric wholesale costs and the cheapest of £119.60 per MWh. While prices are currently down from this time last month (due to above average temperatures for the time of year and increased Wind generation), the increasing tensions between Russia and the Ukraine put added stress on the winder commodities which in turn could affect our prices.

Today, the Gas market has decreased 15.09% lower than this time last month with the electric market down by 0.87%.
